Anchor Twist Stool

Anchor Twist is crafted from a solid oak section of a Venetian briccola pole, preserved in extraclear resin, with light filtering through the two sections to recreate the depths of the Venetian lagoon. Part of alcarol's Bricola Collection, the piece reflects the brand's concept of the "environmental cross section," giving new life to oak poles recovered from the Venice Lagoon, where years submerged in the canals leave each pole shaped by lagoon molluscs and atmospheric elements so that no two pieces are alike. Through a patented resination process, alcarol preserves the wood's natural live edges intact, filling gaps and capturing underwater air bubbles to restore its original underwater appearance, while the section planes are left uncoated by resin and treated instead with a selective matt finish, creating a contrast between the wood's warmth and porosity and the resin's elegance and transparency.
