Nature and organic forms are part of the inspiration of the table series Insula, designed by Anne-Mette Bartholin Jensen and Morten Ernst. The shape of the tables is dynamic and appealing – and matches numerous contexts. They go well together with other organic shaped furniture such as the In Duplo sofas from the same designers’ hand. Put together with stringent designed furniture and surroundings Insula creates a fine contrast and suspense and softens up the space.
Insula functions, as the name suggests, as small islands. The coffee tables can be placed alone, but expression strengthens when placed together in groups, resembling clusters of islands.
The Insula table series has been introduced as standing, dinner and conference tables. Standing and dinner tables consist of a foot that matches the form of the tabletop. The frame of the conference table matches the frame of the coffee tables. Coffee tables are made of black lacquered aluminium and the other tables consist of a metal frame with tabletops in different materials, e.g. wood.
The Insula Conference is the latest arrival to the Insula table series from Ernst & Jensen Design Studio, and the table series now includes a conference table, a standing table, a dinner table and coffee tables.

Insula Conference has an impressive graphic frame with dimensions which allows a large number of people to comfortably fit around the table. The strong visual expression is enhanced with the use of black linoleum – a natural and warm material, which is offered in a various range of colours. In addition, the table top in linoleum is specifically suitable for conference rooms and public areas, because of the outstanding sound absorbing quality.
